HealthReturns for Multiply Inspire and Inspire Plus+
HealthReturns is designed to incentivise a healthy lifestyle, rewarding you with up to R1 500 per month on Inspire Plus and up to R745 per month on Inspire (up to as much as R3 000 per family per month) for every step you take to look after your mental and physical wellbeing. Momentum Medical Scheme members enjoy free access to Multiply Inspire, and can upgrade to Multiply Inspire Plus from just R195 a month to earn boosted rewards and increased HealthReturns. Please note that on Multiply Inspire Plus you can earn up to 40% of your medical aid contribution in HealthReturns. On Multiply Inspire, you can earn up to 10% of your medical aid contribution. Since a dependant pays a lower contribution than the principal member, the amount that a dependant can earn is consequently less than that of a principal member.
Download the Momentum app and complete the Lifestyle Quiz to get your Lifestyle Score and start earning HealthReturns into your HealthSaver account. This gives you three months within which to complete your health assessment, locking in your HealthReturns for 12 months.
Completing a fitness assessment will further increase the HealthReturns you can earn. Choose between an online fitness assessment (results remain valid for 6 months), or an in-person fitness assessment (results remain valid for 12 months). If you are under the age of 40 with no health risks, you can choose to do a digital health screening and digital fitness screening on the app. The Healthy Heart Score and fitness level is valid for 3 months, so you can get the highest partner rewards instantly, based on your Healthy Heart Score and fitness level. The digital health screening is valid for 12 months and the digital fitness screening is valid for 3 months. The digital health screening only needs to be completed once a year, unless we request that, based on your results, you repeat it more frequently. The digital fitness screening is a once-off and only counts once in a calendar year.
You can earn more HealthReturns if you achieve a Weekly Win for hitting your Active Dayz goal for the week. You get an active day when you record 10 000 steps in a day, or burn 300 calories in one exercise session, while wearing a Multiply-approved fitness device or using one of the approved apps. You can view your Active Dayz goal on the Momentum app. Boost your weekly rewards when you achieve your weekly Recharge Goal and add that to your Weekly Win.
Achieve your Weekly Wins for four consecutive weeks and score a Monthly Win. You can further boost your monthly rewards when you achieve four consecutive Recharge Goals!
And, if you want to really score big, make sure you rank high in monthly leaderboard challenges, where you go up against your peers in, for instance, a step challenge or burning calories.
A quick scan of your finger on the Multiply app before 08:00 in the morning will be used to determine whether you get a Recharge Day. It considers your sleep recovery and body stress by measuring heart rate variability to show if your body is under strain and needs more mental recovery and rest. If your Recharge Score is high (Super healthy and Healthy), you get a recharge day. If your Recharge Score is low, we offer you resources like the Digital Coach tool and Multiply partners like Calm to help you take care of your mental and physical health.

Completing a fitness assessment
While a fitness assessment is not mandatory, you can choose to complete your fitness assessment through a Multiply-affiliated health professional at R480 (you can book your fitness assessment on the app) to boost your monthly earnings. Your fitness assessment result also determines the level of partner rewards that you’ll get. The result remains valid for 12 months. An online fitness assessment is also available at R270, and results remain valid for 6 months. Vouchers to pay for the online assessments can be purchased on the Multiply online shop.

Understanding health assessment outcomes and your Healthy Heart Score
Following a health assessment, your Healthy Heart Score is based on blood sugar and cholesterol finger prick tests, blood pressure, height, weight and waist measurements, along with your smoking status.
Interpretation of results:
- Green:Super healthy
- All of my cardiovascular disease risk factors are currently under control.
- Amber-Green: Healthy
- I should take action to reduce my cardiovascular disease risk factors.
- Amber: Be aware
- I should take action to reduce my cardiovascular disease risk factors.
- Amber-Red: Effort required
- I should take action to reduce my cardiovascular disease risk factors.
- Red: At risk
- I need to take strong action to reduce my cardiovascular disease risk factors.
The option of undergoing a digital health assessment (as opposed to a more comprehensive in-person health assessment) is available to members younger than 40, who do not suffer from a chronic condition and who achieved a Lifestyle Score of 3 and above when they completed the Lifestyle Quiz. If a member’s digital health assessment result is Amber, Amber-Red or Red, they have to go for an in-person health assessment and will not earn any rewards in HealthReturns until this is completed.
More on Recharge Dayz
Sleep recovery and stress levels will be measured through a quick scan of your finger with the Momentum app. If multiple scans are done before 08:00, the results of the last scan will be used to determine whether you get a recharge day. Your Recharge Score is an indication of your physical and emotional readiness to face challenges throughout the day. The score considers your sleep recovery and body stress by measuring heart rate variability (HRV) to show if your body is under strain and needs more mental recovery and rest. Your Recharge Score is determined through a screening test in the Multiply app. If you get a good (Healthy or Super healthy) score, you’ll earn a recharge day. When you hit your target number of Recharge Dayz, you’ll achieve a Recharge Goal. If your Recharge Score is low, we offer you resources like the Digital Coach tool and Multiply partners like Calm to help you take care of mental and physical health.
Helping members comply with chronic treatment
The aim of a wellness management programme is to provide you with the tools and incentives to manage your wellness. Chronic compliance is only needed if you are registered on a chronic management programme, or if we ask you to undergo further testing based on your health assessment results. This entails claiming for chronic medication for all of the Prescribed Minimum Benefit Chronic Disease List conditions for which you are registered, and also managing your lifestyle to achieve targeted chronic condition management outcomes as prescribed by the chronic management programme. It also means going for additional pathology tests, if required. Momentum Medical Scheme will send you a benefit authorisation and as soon as they receive the results of the tests, you will be deemed compliant. A revised Healthy Heart Score will be calculated based on the outcome of the pathology tests.
Multiply kids fitness assessment
The Multiply kids fitness assessment is available to all members on Multiply Inspire and Inspire Plus, and it is free for Inspire Plus members on the Incentive, Extender and Summit Options, if it is done in the same session as the parent’s fitness assessment.
The kids fitness assessment gives an indication of the child’s developmental progress and shows areas for improvement. Rewards are based on participation and not outcomes, and you as parent get recommendations on how to improve or maintain your child’s health.
Parents who are not on Inspire Plus or the abovementioned options, can opt to have the assessment done at a cost of R250 (this cost would also apply if a child goes for a second fitness assessment).
The assessment differs depending on your child’s age, there is one for kids within the age groups 7-11 and one for kids 12-17 years. Your child will be rewarded for participating in the assessment by receiving a Nu Metro movie voucher upon completion of the assessment.
You will also earn R50 per month in HealthReturns for 12 months based on participation and not outcomes following your child’s assessment.

Engagement rewards and partner cashbacks will be paid into your HealthSaver account and kept in the booster balance.
Where you spend HealthReturns
Funds from the booster balance can be used for medical expenses at healthcare providers and at selected health-approved retailers to help you with your health and wellness. A full list is available on multiply.co.za.
If you do not have a HealthSaver account, you cannot earn HealthReturns. Multiply will accumulate HealthReturns for three months and pay it over once the HealthSaver account is activated. If the HealthSaver account is not activated during this period, all accumulated HealthReturns will be forfeited. If your HealthSaver account is suspended, we’ll accumulate HealthReturns for three months to give you time to get the account reinstated, after which HealthReturns will be forfeited. All HealthReturns paid into your HealthSaver will be kept in a HealthReturns Booster balance. The HealthReturns Booster balance will be forfeited if you terminate your Momentum Medical Scheme membership or your HealthSaver account.
